Small European Kitchen
The design for this kitchen is rooted in European influence. A small kitchen with only one window, we wanted the space to feel lighter and larger. We chose shades yellow for the backsplash and the cabinets; yellow has the ability to generate light and warmth. Additionally, we united the cabinets and tile in one hue to create space; it elongates this area and visually expands the space.
We used crown molding wherever we could; crown molding is instant and affordable way to add elegance to a room. We found a period reproduction of art in the form of tile and married it with sculptural glass in the adjacent window to continue the theme.
The family room is connected to the kitchen in this space we chose to pick up the yellow but made it more casual. The flooring on the entire 1st floor is Wenge colored laminate with inset of large format tile in the same color where water is an issue at the sink and the entry way.
