Updated Vintage Ensuite
As a compliment to its British Colonial master bedroom counterpart, the ensuite charm was created by using traditional motives with clean and simple lines.
The footprint was not changed in the bathroom remodel in order to contain expenses. A budget friendly design incorporated with 12" filed tiles and subway tiles. 12" black and white marble tiles in a basketweave pattern, and ceramic and glass decorative tiles as the backdrop for the cherry wood vanity and bath skirt. Using white tile visually expands the space and incorporating different sized tile adds elements of sophistication. The aqua glass accents breaks up the white plain while complimenting the aqua painted ceiling. The hardware in brushed nickel featuring a bent rod shower curtain that adds extra space while showering. One wall is painted charcoal as a counterpart the the white tile wall to add depth to the design and mirrors the same technique used in the master bedroom. Art Deco inspired lighting adds to the turn of the century feel of the room, while using large pains of mirror inset with a mirrored medicine cabinet, visually expands the small space. Whimsical details such as the frog inspired planter, dragon fly nobs and wall art add charm and character. Additionally, an eBay find of a spun aluminum miniature mirrored top side table is the perfect perch for bath oil and bath salts.
